Rules

Today when I was working with the 1^st graders, they were acting up and would not cease until I said “Remember one of the rules is being polite, and what you are doing is not polite, you are not following the rules.” I don't know if that would work with 7 year old Americans. It would be interesting to find out more about the disciplinary system in the higher grades here... there doesn't seem to be one in the elementary aside from contacting parents and having meetings with them, and that I think is not so different from American elementary schools, at least in Alaska.
